I have kept all my empty bottles since my first kit of oils arrived in 2013.
At last count, I had 190 empty bottles …

Even if you have just a couple, I wanted to give you some creative ways to use your empties because they are perfect for upcycling into new creations!

First -get every last drop out!
There will always be a few drops circling around the bottom of your bottle and I have 2 x fun ideas for you:
Keep a large glass jar of dryer balls in your laundry room and toss your empties with the lid off into this jar. Pop the lid on and the aromatics that are left in the bottle will infuse your dryer balls for their next use!
Or keep a large glass jar of epsom salts in the bathroom and put your empties in there with the lids off. Your epsom salts will be infused for your next bath!
Now clean your empties:
Remove the labels, caps + orifices. If you can’t peel labels off, they’ll come off easily after soaking.
Fill a large bowl with: Hot water + 1/4c baking soda + 1 tbsp OnGuard cleaning concentrate + 5 drops lemon.
Soak bottles for 10 min. Remove any leftover labels/glue and let air dry.

#1: Create Sprays
You'll need these spray heads.
Here are 10 Spray Recipes to make:
(top up recipes with water when there is space remaining)
HAND + SURFACE MIST:
5d each OnGuard + Wild Orange
1 tsp 91% rubbing alcohol or Everclear 95% alcohol
1 tsp FCO
AIR REFRESHER:
5d each Lemon, Lavender + Peppermint or 20d Adaptiv blend
1 tsp witch hazel
HAIR SPRAY:
10d Lavender
5d each Rosemary + Peppermint
1 tsp of sugar + witch hazel
THROAT SPRAY:
10d each OnGuard + Lemon
FACIAL MIST:
10d Lavender
5d each Frankincense + Juniper Berry
Fill with Witch Hazel or Rosewater
AFTER SUN:
10d Lavender
5d each Peppermint + Sandalwood
1 tsp Castor Oil
LINEN + PILLOW SPRAY:
20d Serenity or Lavender
1 tsp witch hazel
BUG SPRAY:
10d each Citronella + Terrashield
1 tsp FCO
BLOAT BUSTER:
10d Metabolic Blend
5d Peppermint
1 tsp FCO
AFTER SHAVE:
5d each Lavender, Frank + Helichrysum
1 tsp FCO
The girls and I spent the morning creating a bunch of hand + surface cleansers for neighbours in need.
We popped a little heart sticker on each bottle for that extra little reminder of love …
#2: Create dropper bottles:
Purchase dropper tops for your empties: They are avail for 15ml bottles here or for 5ml bottles here
And now you can create custom blends for your diffuser or other applications!
Here is my diffuser blend guide filled with lots of ideas of custom blends to make. Find a blend you love and then multiply the ratio of drops x 10.
Then add stickers to the bottle of each oil in the blend and note the amount of drops you used for easy when refilling.

#3: Create custom roller bottles:
You can use an empty 10ml roller bottle here, or you can purchase this roller top to add to an empty 5 or 15ml bottle!
For an empty 10ml roller bottle:
For adults: add 20 - 30 drops of essential oils of choice and top up with Fractionated Coconut oil.
For kids age 8 +: use 10 - 15 drops essential oil
For babies through age 8: use 5 -7 total drops essential oil.
