How to integrate doTERRA into a physical space with two purchase pathways + residual earnings for the store owner 💸

RETAIL SPACE VIDEO OVERVIEW

Here is an overview I recorded during our May 2024 Team Zoom. Watch from the 17min mark onwards:

Spaces to consider connecting with:

👉 Dental Offices

👉 Chiropractic Offices

👉 Massage Therapy Clinics

👉 Hair Salons

👉 Gyms

👉 Spas

👉 Real Estate Agents (for new home welcome gifts)

TIP: It’s best to begin with studios that you have an existing relationship with:

👉 Do you have an enrolled wholesale customer on your team that already owns a studio space?

👉 Is there a studio you are a client of that you could make a service appointment for to begin the conversation?

Before you continue, click here to open our team Retail Folder of resources + image

Here is how the retail model works:

Integrating doTERRA into a physical space is an excellent value add opportunity for store owners and a way to build residual 💸

Getting past the retail mindset is the challenge here… hauling buckets vs building pipeline

HOW TO APPROACH A SPACE:

The best approach is to meet the retail space owner and give them some oils + a diffuser to experience as a ‘loaner’ for 2 weeks and setup a second meeting 2 weeks later.

Once they have a cool experience with the oils they will see the bigger picture.

On your 2nd meeting you could review how you can support them in launching oils for retail sales, a few in house EO 101 classes perhaps, talk about ways to take a retail customer to a wholesale account.

📦 LOANER BOX IDEAS:

Give them a doTERRA box to enjoy for 2 weeks with the following:

👉 Pebble diffuser (which is the free diffuser new customers are offered) or the Roam diffuser

👉 Wood display block or rack of popular oils.
For example for a spa you would likely include: Aromatouch, Deep Blue, Lavender, Breathe, Peppermint, OnGuard, Wild Orange, Serenity and perhaps the 1L pump of Deep Blue Lotion

👉 An Essential Life Book

👉 Product Catalog

💸 REVIEW EARNINGS POTENTIAL WITH SPA:

Review what it means to be a Wellness Advocate: Purchase products at 25% off retail through their LRP order and sell at full price (they must sell at minimum 10% above wholesale price.

Earn on the difference there along with a percentage of order back in product credits monthly. After 1 year, lock in the 30% back in credits for a total of 55% off retail.

In addition - they have the opportunity to earn residual income on wholesale customer enrollments through their space.

Here’s a video I posted to social media inviting studio owners to contact me to integrate doTERRA.
At the end I also show you the contents of the binder I create for them which I discuss further down this page:

HOW TO SETUP A RETAIL LOCATION + SUPPORT:

  1. Enroll the store owner as a Wellness Advocate and setup their first month of LRP saved at 100pv minimum. They will order through their LRP, the products they will sell at retail price at their location. This also ensures that when customers decide to scan their QR code signage in the store to purchase at wholesale, these customers are enrolled to the store owner and the owner will be setup to earn the commissions from that enrollment.

Additionally, it’s ideal if the Store owner has their Wellness Advocate account and a Wellness Advocate account under them to place all enrolling customers underneath (to grow a leg). TIP: Teach the retail owner/orderer to bulk order during 200pv promo months to maximize their earnings!

  2. Help the store owner to decide on which products they want to retail based on what their services are. Scroll down to see a list of the top retail products …

  3. Create the store owner’s wholesale purchasing link as a QR code to display on in store signage. This gives their guests the opportunity to purchase at full price right off their shelves (convenient but more expensive) OR scan their QR to purchase at wholesale and have shipped to their home.

  4. In Store Signage: Create in store signage for them to display which shows QR code and free welcome gifts for orders over 150pv. You might also want to create signage that shows the wholesale + retail price for each item they are selling on the shelf.

  5. Create an in store Resource Binder for their employees to have as reference. Click here to see our team binder printables

  6. Put all signage you’ve printed into a Google Folder for the space to access and print from as needed. See example of folder here

  7. Request official approval from doTERRA for the space to sell at retail: Email compliance@doterra.com with your completed application

Policy Manual Section 13A: With written approval from the Company, a Wellness Advocate may sell products through retail stores such as health food stores, grocery stores, and other such establishments, except in such stores or establishments that, in the Company's sole discretion, are large enough to be considered state, regional, or national chains. Wellness Advocates may not sell products through online auctions sites, such as eBay or Amazon, without specific written permission from doTERRA.

Policy Manual Section 13B: Wellness Advocates may sell products through service establishments that provide services related to the products. For example, doTERRA products may be sold through the offices of doctors and other healthcare professionals, health clubs, spas, and gyms.

SUPPORT YOU WILL OFFER STORE OWNER:

PLACEMENTS: Establish that you will help manage the back office end for them.
Have them forward all new customer enrollments to you and you will login to their account and place them into a leg. Remind them that it would be helpful to enroll a Wellness Advocate right away (perhaps someone from the studio space) so that you can structure customers into a leg.

You could subscribe each new customer to our team email drip or your own if you’ve made one. You could also take it to another level and send welcome packages out to each new customer on their behalf if they are a high volume generator. See checklist below for steps to Welcome a New Customer …

HELP WITH ORDERS: Help them initially establish their first 3 months of orders based on what they want to sell. Focus on around 10 products and have at least 2 of each product. Store owner would order through their LRP and then sell at full retail price. Check in with store owner at the start of each month to see if they need assistance.

EDUCATION: Offer to teach an initial Natural Solutions class or topical lunch + learn within the first 3 months of integration. And perhaps something ongoing if it’s a large space. Create a Resource Binder for the staff to be able to reference for any guest questions.

EXAMPLE OF WELCOME MESSAGE TO STUDIO OWNER

Hi Lisa ~

Welcome to our essential oil community and I’m excited for you to integrate doTERRA into your Studio! I’ve compiled some helpful resource in this note if you’d like to save this for later reference …

YOUR REFERRAL LINK:

💸 You now have a referral link you can share with any friends/clients that want to purchase doTERRA through you. This will give them 25% off and through all purchases, you earn 20% back in free products. Here's your link: referral.doterra.me/xxxxxxx

Note: there is another pathway of earning you might also be interested in if you think you might place monthly orders of at least 100pv. This would set you up to earn cash commissions through each customer enrollment and more levels of earning as your community grows. You can change your account type to be Wellness Advocate and setup your first Loyalty Rewards (LRP) order for next month if this interests you (or can do this anytime down the road)

YOUR STUDIO SPACE:

📁 I’ve created this folder of resources for you which contains:

👉 Signage specific to you with your QR code on it you can print to display in your studio
👉 Wallet cards with your QR code for each sharing when you’re on the go
👉 Price lists and other resources you might want to print and keep in a binder

Here is our team Retail Toolkit which is full of lots of great ideas. Let’s setup a zoom in the next 2 weeks to go over any questions you have and chat about which products you’d like to carry in your studio.

Items to include in the RESOURCE Binder:

put all of the following documents into plastic sleeves

✔️ Your contact details and business card

✔️ Info on doTERRA oil testing methods and what CPTG means

✔️ Quick claims guide: how to not make disease claims

✔️ Updated price list: see various markets in our team folder here. Highlight the retail price column and the wholesale price column to differentiate

✔️ Prodct Info Pages for every product store is selling on the shelf

OTHER SMART IDEAS:

👉 Integrate a presence of doTERRA throughout the space:

✔️ the Hand Soap + Lotion in the bathrooms hand soap + lotion in bathroom

✔️ OnGuard + Breathe throat drops in a bowl at the register

✔️ Roam Diffuser with a custom blend or Breathe blend

👉 Have a collection of little samples that the store gives out when someone purchases their services
Ie) if it’s a dental office - add a vial of OnGuard oil to their toothache bag. If it’s a Chiro office - add samples of deep blue lotion and aroma touch

👉 Give out welcome packages for every doTERRA retail or wholesale purchase: a usage guide and various samples.
See our team welcome package folder here for gift bag ideas

👉 Oil of the month card that stands up in a little stand alongside the oil of the month

👉 Encourage store owner to send out their 25% off referral link in any store emails they send out
