Practicing with the doTERRA Yoga Collection
Q + A for the Yogis
If you had to come up with a 100pv order of the BEST and most relevant oils to a yoga practice what would you choose?
Sandalwood to nourish beads and for 3rd eye, Lemon for the big water bottle and to make a mat cleaning spray and Peppermint beadlets to pop one before class in mouth or rub on temples
Definitely Frankincense... so grounding and spiritual. But I know that takes up 3/4 of that PV! So I'd say AromaTouch in addition ... love to give adjustments in savasana with this oil! Or Balance!
Balance and Serenity mixed! So grounding and calming. I use in all my yoga classes, I second the Lemon for water and I make a mat spray with Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Lavender!
Easy Air to open the airways and I love using Wild Orange and Peppermint or Motivate
I agree on the Motivate! Love diffusing this before class!
Balance is so grounding, anything with Frankincense is! I use Lemongrass in almost every class during savasana. I just started doing Lavender on a cool washcloth for their eyes in savasana though and I love that. AromaTouch is ideal for a restorative + gentle yoga class. And I love Peppermint and think it is an absolute must for a flow/vinyasa or hot yoga. Lemon is great for a mat cleaner and it is a nice, crisp smell for some green cleaning in the studio!
I love Peppermint beadlets before a class to encourage deep breathing (so easy with fresh breath!).
Frank for meditation. Add witch hazel + h2o to empty Lemon bottles with a spray top for easy to transport mat spray (I just slip mine into the little zipper pocket on the side of my mat bag). Peace Touch roller for behind my ears.
Sandalwood for sure, I often use a Peppermint mat spray (with Tea Tree, Eucalyptus as well) for facecloths on third eye at the end of class (Peppermint roller works nicely too). This week I have been using Elevation with Wintergreen, calling it the joyful surrender, I find Wintergreen releases deeply the muscles, emotional stress and our need to be right-all the time! Oh and love InTune roller or Balance on the feet, really has folks grounded and stable halfway through class.
The most popular oils I diffuse in the yoga classes I teach are Balance, Breathe/Easy Air, and then Grapefruit, Bergamot and/or Wild Orange ...they're available to put on topically if they wish. Balance to help ground , Breathe/Easy Air to open airways and chest, and then Grapefruit for honouring the body, Bergamot for self acceptance and Wild Orange for uplifting ( also good for opening the hips emotionally)
Balance, Serenity, Frank and I love a drop of Peppermint on the back of my neck before hot yoga
Frank, Lemon (in water), Serenity, Balance and Wild Orange, Bergamot too
I diffuse Balance and Easy Air (great combo)
In the mornings I diffuse something uplifting - today was Grapefruit, Elevation and Wild Orange. At night I like something more relaxing - Peace is my all time fav. I have Balance right next to me and put a drop or 2 on my fingers rub and inhale just before teaching.
Breathe to connect me to my breath, Frankincense for presence, Sandalwood for third eye opening, Tea Tree to clean yoga mat, Lavender for savasana.
Balance 100%. I made a spray and spray my mat before every practice. You can also add some to the bottom of your feet about 5 minutes before practice and then at the end during corpse pose. I also put a drop over my heart. Easy Air to inhale a few moments before I begin to open up my airways. If it is an early morning yoga then I add a drop or two of peppermint to the top of my mat for extra help waking up in some positions. Lemon and Tea Tree to clean my mat afterwards.
Balance, Serenity, Easy Air is what draws me in and clams me.
I always make up washcloths for the end of class. I teach Power Yoga, so I use Lemongrass & Peppermint. I also diffuse during class. Lemongrass & Peppermint, sometimes a citrus blend with ALL the citrusy oils! Slim/Smart and Sassy is a great choice too!! Balance & Bergamot is my all time favourite blend, and will sometimes either diffuse that, or offer it in a dropper bottle before class for feet!
Once in a blue moon I teach a Deep Flow class with a TON of hip and hamstring work. (Which can be incredibly difficult both physically and emotionally). I diffuse Vetiver and Bergamot, Clary Sage and Wild Orange, or Balance & Bergamot for those classes.
I'm loving Passion, Peppermint, Balance and Wild Orange..alternate between them..and Cheer when I really need a kick in the ass
Past Tense is nice for savasana - - I dilute with FCO. Cheer is also good in the diffuser for flow. The oils I diffuse the most are Wild Orange & Peppermint.
Breathe applied on chest, Balance on feet, & I am in love with Aromatouch for diffusing.
Serenity, Balance, also: I blend Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Wild Orange in a roller and use it on my hands in savasana when I adjust my students. They love it. Eucalyptus and Peppermint with Wild Orange is also awesome! Energy central!
Serenity, Breathe, Peppermint, Sandalwood, Lavender, Lemon, Tea Tree, Wild Orange, Ylang Ylang, Balance — the aroma therapy kit is ideal for most yogis
Obsessed with Balance and Bergamot right now. Also Breathe/Easy Air and sometimes Peace!
My favs are Balance, Lavender, and Sandalwood. Sometimes I diffuse Sandalwood & Cheer before class
